Jim Browning, defensive line coach and head wrestling coach, was tapped to lead the varsity football program on Monday, June 5th, 2023 after the departure of former head football coach, Shea Monroe.
"Jim was named interim head football coach because of his dedication to Ashville High School, our community, and most importantly, our kids," said Josh Huffstutler, assistant principal of Ashville High School. "Jim is not seeking the position of head coach permanently but he has experience leading our state championship-caliber wrestling program, which made him the ideal man to guide our program until we find the right person to fill the position long-term."
Coach Browning will step down as interim head football coach as soon as a permanent hire has been made by Ashville High School and the St. Clair County School System.
The position of athletic director will also be announced within the coming weeks.
