Ashville Falls to Anniston 26-6

The Ashville Bulldogs came up short against the Anniston Bulldogs on Friday night. Both teams were led by strong defensive performances. Ashville was held to just 242 total yards, while Anniston put up 256 total yards. After trading scores in the first quarter Ashville found themselves down 20-6 at halftime. The third quarter was scoreless, and Anniston punched in a late touchdown to make the final score 26-6.

Malik Williams led the team with 18 total tackles on the night. Landon Cornutt added an interception that he returned for Ashville's only score of the evening. Cornutt also went 15/37 passing for 166 yards and also added 43 yards on the ground. Ty Armstrong contributed 39 yards on 15 rushes.

"We just have to come out and stick to the grind," Ashville head coach Trey Pike said after the game. "This is on me, I have to do a better job of getting these guys more prepared to take care of the opportunities we have. We just need to keep on working." Ashville will travel to Oneonta next week to take on the Redskins in a region match up. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM.
